More precisely, the digitized map of the threads of the French manufacturer of DMC.
Fragments of embroidery, so that the individual crosses can be seen better.
In the embroidery 290 x 434 cross and 29 threads / 80 colors.
The finished embroidery portrait 254 х 218 by map DMC-2.
In the embroidery 190 x 152 cross and 35 threads (without mixed thread).
The above is not the original image leopard - this is photo embroidery.
In the embroidery 195 x 110 Cross and 38 threads (without mixed thread).
AF map
The threads of this card are used in AF kits.
In terms of quality, tactile sensations and properties, the threads of the AF card are almost identical to those of the CXC production, which many praise.
Digitization of the AF card threads was carried out taking into account earlier digitization of DMC and DMC-2 cards, and when digitizing it, something that was not used earlier was used.
For any cards before embroidering, you need to check the colors of the threads with the colors in the description!
METHOD
Methods for reducing the number of colors sometimes give different results in nuances.
With an increase in the number of colors, the difference in the results of two methods decreases.
Method 2 is available on the AF thread maps (in the kit).
DIFFUSION
Diffusion (scattering) is used to smooth out transitions of brightness, saturation and color tone:
1
Boundary diffusion in the regions of sharp transitions.
2
Uniform diffusion.
3
Diffusion based on the entire image.
Diffusions 2 and 3 are available on AF thread maps (in the kit).
With diffusion 2 and 3, separately located and strongly pronounced pixels / crosses may appear, used to improve the perception of the image from the usual viewing distance of the embroidery (2 ... 3 of the larger side of the embroidery). The number of such pixels decreases with increasing number of colors.
The effect of border diffusion (1) is especially good on embroideries with diffusion from 20 to 70 with a large canvas number (14 and above) and at the borders of areas with similar colors and brightness.

MELANGE
Translated from the French "mélange" is a mixture. Used to increase the quality of embroidery.
Original image
Without melange
200 x 211 / / DMC / / Full cross / / 16 outline
With melange
200 x 211 / / DMC / / Full cross / / 16 outline
When using a melange:
thread used in two additions, regardless of the parameter setting of "addition" in the thread.
Colors are specified in the max number of threads in 2 additions (including mixed).
*
Melange especially when sewing requires the addition to the thread lay flat, without twisting.
Under the constraints:
Min.
Number of unmixed threads minimal.
...
Max.
Number of unmixed threads maximum.
Threads max -
the maximum number of rooms yarns of different colors.
*
Maximum number of threads will be two times more than the color, but not more than 256 threads.
*
Allows you to:
Reduce the amount thread number, asking, for example Colors - 50, Threads - 20. Minimum number of threads set to scroll automatically converted to a minimum of thread through a combination to get a specific number of colors (mixed threads).
Reduce the number of colors (threads for embroidery), asking, for example Colors - 20, Threads - 40.
Example
dimensional model - 200 x 166
image embroidery - Colors 50, Threads 60
by colors -
change the count of threads in proportion to count colors.
